Queen's Jubilee on
stage at Buckingham Palace!
Edwin Shirley Staging (ESS) of London asked us to ship one of
their stages from Sydney, Australia to London to arrive in time
to be used at the Queen's Jubilee celebrations. Unfortunately,
the vessel was delayed en route (as can happen) and the arrival
into London was delayed by a minimum 5 days. Therefore, in order
to recover the situation, we arranged for the cargo to be removed
at one of the scheduled ports of call, Marseilles. This meant
that other containers had to be removed to permit access to ours
which were stowed for later unloading. We had arranged for trucks
to be waiting at Marseilles pending the unload of our freight.
Once the freight was available, it was trucked at great speed
and 32 hours later was on site at Buckingham Palace, on time!
A clear demonstration of our prowess. As a final footnote, the
concert went ahead and was a great success. A spokesperson said
"One was seen to be tapping one's foot!"

Staging the Winter Olympics
Stageco of Belgium gave us the task of shipping some 180 tonnes+
of their equipment to Salt Lake City, USA to be there in time
for the Winter Olympics Opening / Closing Ceremonies. It was loaded
in Belgium 15 days before it was needed for the Load-In at Salt
Lake City. We then routed the cargo to New York for an arrival
7 days later which was cleared immediately upon arrival by our
US compadres. Once cleared, the cargo was then hauled by our waiting
trucks to Salt Lake City and after negotiating, some typical midwinter
conditions arrived in good shape ready for the designated unloading
time. The time was 11 days door to door, Belgium to Salt Lake
City. Not bad for so much oceanfreight, particularly when the
conventional routing over the West Coast of America was 30 days
approximately. Yet another example of our lateral thinking that
endorses our clients' belief that we are the best choice.
